Lost in Pace (LIP) Awards
R3 members are encouraged to participate in the annual Lost in Pace (LIP) awards program. Each month, everyone submits our running or purposeful walking miles via Facebook post or email. Jonathan adds the miles to a club spreadsheet documenting mileage for all members and the club as a whole. At the end of the year, each person wins prizes based on their total annual miles. Milestones are set at 300, 500, 750, 1000 and 1200 miles. Prizes include insulated mugs, towels, beanies, jackets, visors and other items.
We are also teammates who help and encourage each other, so we have a collective mileage goal as well. This year our club goal is 50K miles.

Kay Cannady, LIP Founder
"Lost in Pace Rewards Program (LIP) originated in 2019 as a means to motivate club members to get out there and move to reach running milestone distances. It has been very successful and at races when the weather is cool, you will most likely see River Region Runners jackets. I was the original coordinator and earned two towels and a running bag before finally earning a jacket last year! So happy to have walked and jogged over 1000 miles in 2022! If you want to have some motivation to put on your running shoes and get out the door, participate in LIP!"

Jonathan Kidd, Current LIP Coordinator
"I took over the LIP program in 2022. I see the program as a way for everyone in the club to challenge themselves individually and as a group. Most set a goal to hit 1000 miles for the year to get that prestigious R3 jacket. Some set smaller goals of staying active and getting more miles than last year. Whether you’re someone that enjoys walking or you’re training for a marathon, there’s something here for you. It’s all about setting your own personal goals, then getting out there and putting in the work to achieve those goals. The LIP program helps keep club members active and in touch with each other during those times when it’s difficult to find motivation.
